Lion Tafari who's birth name is Demetrius Durand was born April,22,1980 on the island of Dominica. Music was for ever apart of his life, as a youth he used to play various instruments for example the flute, guitar & harmonica at various church functions, but while growing up his interest lead more to singing taking part in school talent shows or just in the hall ways with his friends, at recess chanting a few reggae tunes. In his mid teens he relocated to the US Virgin Islands St Croix, to be exact. After settling he made new friends who had the same interest, music was not only his point of interest he also loved playing football some may know it as soccer, and also cricket. But music was forever his first love, but the roots! Behind his Revolutionary style of singing started when he became a sole member of the Nyabingy tribe, of the Rastafarian family. That’s where the inspiration from his music came from, but it was only when he came to Atlanta Georgia his love for music grew even stronger with the endless, opportunities of being a professional reggae artist. Having numerous performances he is on the way to the major leagues, he is all about spreading the message of culture to the world, and hopes to graduate from an Independent artist to major.
