- About Me
- "Born in the jungle by a primitive mother, where there's no time but now...... Where we live with the first rythm: nature, heart and blow..... So many things, good and bad i saw....but all, and i say all, help me to grow" M.W. "Since always, reggae music attract me, and rasta people always came to me. When i moved out of colombia, they became my second family. With and for my bredreen i began to sing..." M.W. Maria 's been doing choruses for differents reggae bands for 4 years, among wich "Sai Sai and Family roots concept", "Onylee", "Doggy", "Jah Prince And the Prophets", "Sargento Garcia", .... In 2004 Maria met Selecta' Mani 2, and both they creat the concept called "Princess Crew", and they were doing "Princess Party's". It was a sound system with only women singing'. At this time, Tyrone Downie (keyboards of Bob Marley!) began to be a strong support and friend in Maria White's life.They met in Jamaica working upon di album of a spanish singer. Maria did shows in France (Paris:Espace européen, Cabaret sauvage, Flèche d'or, Tryptique, La Scène, La Pêche, Le Gambeta, La Friche, ....), in Amiens, Beauvais, Lille, Nantes, some festivals in Mexico ( Guadalajara, DF, San Luis Potosi, Tijuana, Colima, ...) , Costa Rica (San Jose) and in Colombia ( Cartagena,Santa Marta, Bogota). After this experience, Maria began to think about a first solo album, with all she has learn, with all the differents cultures she has met, visited, sometimes lived...... african folklore/cumbia/champeta/salsa/reggae roots and new roots/ reggaeton/dancehall/Jazz/Soul/R&B...... So a new trip is going on...and in few month you'll hear !
