About Me
Desh first came on the Zambian music scene in 1994 as a gospel-rapstar while living in Ndola Zmbia. Did the first album with a group he formed with his friends Saili Nyondo and joe chibangu 1995-6.The group got known as the Rap Prophets; They sang songs about politics, love, religion and other realities of life. Rap Prophets became one of the first known rapgroups from the copperbelt Zambia, Desh "muffin" went to stay in south africa,later he came back to Z and joined a crew named the EHD-crew, the Ever High Dreads, consisting of Nasty D., 2WICE, Louie X. Funty K and Ranking-C (sizzar) . In 2002, the EHD-crew decided to change their name to Zambezi-symphony. In the year 2002-2003 they had about 150 shows, establishing a Zambian record. And they had hits the chart with 'Ayitaya' which took the number 1 position for 26 weeks. At the same time, Desh was working with MYB,a modelling company as a model. Desh started working on his solo-album 'Nayanomba', which started playing on the radio in late 2003 and will be released for sale in 2004. A live-performance of one of the tracks, 'Nokowamubiyo', was shot to be feature Zambia's first international feature film. In December 2004,Desh left Zambia for the Netherlands, where he has been recording his second solo cd 'Wrong Number' with dancehall & hiphop producer Groove B. In 2005 come back to zambia to release the album lesa somone under supershine investments and the same year he went back to Europe.. During his stay he has been working with CR= on a set of akoustic songs, he worked with the band the Bingo Nuts featured as the guest on their last cd, did a mix with the alternative techno DJ Marcus, Nicky and featured on the new cd of the Malawian collective Kid & the People for the recordlabel DakarSound Holland. Desh has performed, in various festivals in europe and africa. At the moment he is studying ArtScience (Image and Sound) at Royal Arts Academy, the Royal consevertory in The hague . Currently working on his third solo album LINK UP!"so royal"...
